Continuing my quest to master inks… here’s another attempt to control them and figure out how they handle being mixed, lifted, manipulated, and their opacity. It’s been the hardest medium for me so far… besides water color. I’m including sculpting in stone!! Water color will probably always be my nemesis. 🤣🤣🤣 on the bright side I have some very talented water color artists friends I absolutely love!!!

Watch his eyes. They look straight back into yours. 😍Seeing how it is illegal to pet/touch manatees, I had to paint one that we can play with. He’s anticipating the boop on the nose.

Inspired by my favorite road trips ever! Last year (2025) we did the entire coast of Florida and even 70 miles out at the tip to the Dry Tortugas. I floated in the ocean, snorkel the Great Reef, swam with hundreds of species of fish including sharks, watched manatees slurp fish juice dripping off cleaning stations, watched an electric eel hunt out from under me on a ledge a foot and a 1/2 away, watched baby nurse sharks wiggle up on rocks a few feet away to eat pieces of fish put out for them, listened to millions of clams clap as the tide rolled away, stayed in amazing Airbnb’s, etc, etc, and have memories that I still day dream about. Enough that I will spend the rest of my life painting them… and smiling.
