The Cedar Lake Historical Association (CLHA) operates the Taylor Ice Co. truck, a 1947 International In 1922, Thomas J. in Cedar Lake, Indiana. His son, Thomas J.

Taylor, Sr., established the Taylor Ice Co. Taylor, Jr., assumed operation of the ice company in 1948 and delivered to local homes and businesses. Truck donor, Todd Taylor, assisted his father, Thomas Jr., in the family business throughout high school and again from 1971 until the close of operations. The Taylor ice truck made its final deliveries to the Lake County fairgrounds in 1988. On September 23, 2020, the Cedar Lake Historical Association accepted the donation of the Taylor Ice Co. 1947 International KB5 from Todd Taylor. Look for this artifact-in-motion at community events beginning in May 2021.

🛻This is the first year that I get to be featured during the field trip experience! Please help my caretakers welcome as many kiddos as possible this month by joining our volunteer team. 🥰

We are poised to welcome the most school kids EVER this month to our steamboat & museum field trip experience ... about 500 third graders ... IF we can secure enough volunteers!

Would YOU consider joining our team to help bring history alive for the youngsters? Field trips are booked for September 9, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24. The time commitment is approximately 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on each day (with a few exceptions).
