The Museum at Lassen's Resort is closed today in observance of Memorial Day. We hope you have enjoyed your weekend and are now pausing to remember the purpose of this annual day of remembrance.

As we announced at our May 7th Season Opening Celebration, in addition to the rotating exhibit room display at the museum this season, we are going to celebrate America’s 250th in another way this year as well.

Heroes Gallery Wall of Honor

During Summerfest Sunday afternoon, we will debut our new Captain Andrew W. Laud Heroes Gallery Wall of Honor. Captain Laud's family has provided the lead gift to develop this exhibit. This permanent display will be installed to recognize the men and women who have served to provide the freedoms that we enjoy today.

If you would like YOUR hero included on this Wall of Honor so that we can honor him or her as our hero too, please complete the application by June 7, 2026. A minimum $75 donation must be made with the application. Applications will also be accepted in person at the museum during normal operating hours if you would like to pay with cash or check. Please contact us with any questions.

🛻It's finally my turn to share grant news! 🛻The third of 4 grants that Cedar Lake Historical Association received last fall is a $50,000 Heritage Support Project Grant from the Indiana Historical Society, funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc.. (The press release is posted on the About Us page of our website with all the details.)

A portion of this funding includes MY NEW SHELTER 🤩 - an outdoor pavilion where I'll be on permanent display in the side lawn of The Museum at Lassen's Resort. Henn & Sons broke ground on my new digs on Thursday (just before the huge ⛈️ rains hit). It will ultimately be finished in a style similar to the pavilion by the beach.

I hope that you are able to join us for the 🎀✂️ ribbon cutting for the ice pavilion and the rest of our 2026 Season Opening Celebration 🥳 activities on May 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM. There's no fee, but we do want to have an accurate headcount. So please RSVP on our website at lassensresort.org.

Today was a painting day...9 hours of painting!!! In part to turn this closet into the smallest exhibit room in The Story of Cedar Lake exhibit gallery. Coming May 7th: "Share Your Story - Cedar Lake Heart & Soul" an ongoing opportunity for guests to share what they love about living, working, and playing in Cedar Lake. 💞
