The Cedarburg Art Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the art of Wisconsin, with a special emphasis on Cedarburg and its surrounding areas. Our vision is to be a preferred destination that celebrates creative expression in a historic and inclusive environment, inspiring future talent and fostering a rich, cultural community. With roots tracing back to the Wittenberg Woolen Mill in the 1860s, our museum honors the region’s artistic heritage and serves as a platform for local artists to showcase their talent.

Did you notice this detail?

Not everything at 'Twas is meant to be discovered at first glance. Look at the fireplace. Look in the mirror. Look around the corners. Sometimes the most delightful parts of 'Twas are the things you weren't expecting to find.

This photo from 1907 shows a room of our mansion, at that time the Wittenberg-Jochems' residence, titled in a handwritten note as their "Santa Claus Corner." This corner would have been part of the many decorations that lit up their house to welcome the holiday season.

This year, the Cedarburg Art Museum once again continues the tradition through our 'Twas the Night Before Christmas event. Come step into this snapshot of history as we recreate their cozy Christmastide, complete with art, decorations, and storytelling!
