Congratulations to the winners of the 2026 Annual Juried Exhibition!
For this year’s exhibition, "America: a Wisconsin Perspective," 35 artists interpreted the state’s role in 250 years of America’s history, just in time for the country’s semiquincentennial anniversary.
Independent curator and Milwaukee-local Annemarie Sawkins acted as juror this year, judging artworks on fittingness to theme, originality, and expertise with media. After careful deliberation, the following artworks were selected for top prizes:
Best in Show: ‘We Too, Company F’ by Aaron Boyd of Milwaukee Wisconsin
Second Place: ‘View of Gall’s Farm’ by Judith Friebert of Shorewood, Wisconsin
Third Place: ‘Georgia O’Keeffe. Mother of American Modernism,’ by Patrick Doughman of Cedarburg, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention: ‘Ode to O’Keeffe’ by Barbara Vater of Middleton, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention: ‘Coexist’ by Laurie Runnoe of Brookfield, Wisconsin
Honorable Mention: ‘Transplanted Roots Run Deep, From my Iconic Wisconsin Series’ by Darlene Wesenberg Rzezotarski of Shorewood, Wisconsin
