33rd Annual Applefest Car Show
at Pioneer Town
Join us during Cedaredge Applefest for the 33rd Annual Pioneer Town Car Show on Saturday, October 3rd!
From 9 am-1:30 pm, stroll through Pioneer Town and check out a fantastic lineup of cars while HOLD FAST AUDIO keeps the classic tunes playing. The COLORADO PIN-UP CLUB will also be joining us, adding a little extra vintage flair to the day. The CEDAR MESA CLUB will be on hand for breakfast and lunch snacks.
VISITORS CAN VOTE FOR their favorites from 9 am till 12:30 pm, helping choose our TOP 15 PEOPLE'S CHOICE WINNERS. Best in Show will also be awarded, with trophies presented at 1:30 pm.
Come for the cars, stay for the music and enjoy one of Pioneer Town's favorite Applefest traditions!

We’re excited to welcome local historian and author Jerry McHugh to Pioneer Town on Thursday, September 17th for a special Third Thursday History Talk and book signing celebrating the release of his new book, The Flow of Water: How Ordinary People Shaped the Colorado Frontier. Jerry has spent years researching and sharing the history of the Surface Creek Valley and is also a former board member of the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society.

Jerry’s interest in local history began while researching his own family and gradually expanded into a much broader look at the people who settled and shaped this area. Rather than focusing only on prominent names and major events, The Flow of Water explores the lives of ordinary people, including farmers, ranchers, families, and communities, and the ways they adapted to life on Colorado’s Western Slope.

A central theme of the book is the role water played in determining where people settled, how farms and communities developed, and whether those early efforts succeeded or failed. Drawing from historic newspapers, census records, land records, water filings, court documents, advertisements, obituaries, and other sources, Jerry pieces together the stories of the people behind the historical record.

Join us at Pioneer Town to hear Jerry share stories from his research and talk about how The Flow of Water came together. Following the presentation, he will be available for a book signing, and copies of the book will be available for purchase through the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society.

Night on the Town is TOMORROW! 🤠

School is back in session, so come celebrate the start of a new school year with a fun evening out for the whole family at Pioneer Town.

Join us Saturday, August 29th from 4–8 PM for a free evening of Old West fun, including cowboy poetry, western music, wagon rides, line dancing, a silent auction, children’s activities, face painting, blacksmithing demonstrations, and more.

We’ll also have food available throughout the evening. Check out the menu below for hot dogs, chili, cookies, drinks, and our $5 meal deal.

And if you have a cowboy hat, boots, or other western wear hiding in the closet, this is the perfect excuse to break them out!
