Historical Museum of Cherokee County The Museum is housed in a 1920's 3 story general store in downtown Centre, Al. With around 15,000 artifacts, exhibits are varied, fun, and interactive.

Spend some time in our internet cafe, or bring your kids to play and learn. The purpose of the Cherokee County Historical Museum is to collect, protect, preserve, manage, describe, organize and make available for research, materials related to the history of Cherokee County, to provide facilities for the retention and servicing of such records and to facilitate the efficient management of these records for future generations

American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday March 17th at noon in the Museum.
We will be celebrating the 107th birthday of the Legion.

Prayers extended to the family of Buddy Knapp. He worked to build the Sports Room in the Museum. He also wrote the programs for the June meeting of the Historical Preservation Society of Cherokee County, Alabama which honored local people who influenced sports in Cherokee County. You will be missed.

Cherokee County Retired Educators met at the Historical Museum on Dec. 10 for a Christmas get together. Guest speaker was Senator Andrew Jones. He and his wife, Summer, led us in Christmas Carols. CCERA made a donation to the museum for their continued work with students and our Community.

Thurs night 6 pm in museum the Historical Preservation Society of Cherokee County, Al will meet. President Jeff Sauls will speak " When it was illegal to Celebrate Christmas, a pre-revolutionary war idea".
Light snacks will be served.
