Inside the studio of Riivo Kruuk as he prepares for After The Net, a forthcoming solo exhibition of new paintings opening June 5 at Stevenson & Co.

The exhibition will present a new body of work continuing the artist’s exploration of portraiture, atmosphere, and memory through an increasingly intuitive and painterly approach.

On view June 5–30, 2026.

Fresh arrivals from France.

New still life paintings by Julie Messerschmidt have arrived at Stevenson & Co. — quietly luminous works rooted in classical tradition, softened by a distinctly modern sensibility.

Now available to view at the gallery on Queen Street and online.

A new presentation of works by our represented artists is now on view—available by appointment today, this evening, and Saturday.

While the Charleston Gallery Association First Friday Artwalk carries on tonight, Stevenson & Co. will be closed to the public. We’ll be back in full stride next week, with normal hours resuming Tuesday, May 5.

In the meantime, we’re already looking ahead— our June 2026 First Friday brings a major moment for the gallery with a celebratory third solo exhibition by Riivo Kruuk.

To schedule a private viewing or request details, email requests to the gallery at [email protected] or call Patrick Stevenson at (843) 261-4768.

A bold new chapter in steel.

Join us tonight from 5–7PM for the collector preview of Stone & Tide, the debut solo exhibition by Karen Delaney at Stevenson & Co. Monumental yet deeply intimate, Delaney’s sculptural forms evoke a quiet sense of balance, resilience, and companionship—works that feel both grounded in the earth and alive within the space.

We look forward to welcoming you into the gallery.

Based in Chesapeake Bay, Karen Delaney creates abstract, totemic sculptures that suggest the human form through balance, void, and gesture. Welded steel and layered patinas reveal the hand of the artist—raw seams, scorched edges, and richly worked surfaces. Open forms invite light to pass through, activating each piece in space. Both elemental and refined, her sculptures carry a quiet, grounding presence.

Join us in the gallery on Thursday evening from 5–7 PM for a collector preview of her debut solo exhibition, Stone & Tide.

Final weekend.

June Upton’s Guest Check lingers in that quiet, fleeting space between the everyday and the unforgettable—kitchen light, citrus on the counter, a moment half-noticed and fully felt. Her paintings, along with her works on vintage guest check receipts, capture the poetry of domestic life in saturated hues of butter yellow and soft green.

On view through the weekend at Stevenson & Co.
A last chance to step inside her world at 50 Queen Street in the beautiful French Quarter.

June Upton’s debut solo exhibition has been one for the books! It has been the highest honor to show this work on Queen Street and we are proud and enthusiastic to welcome June and her distinctive aesthetic to the gallery family. ‘Guest Check’ is on view until the end of this month. June’s works will continued to be featured and represented by Patrick Stevenson, and we could not be more thrilled. Cheers, June!

𝙐𝙥𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙭𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 — A life in sculpture, forged across continents and decades, arrives in Charleston this April. For her debut solo exhibition with Stevenson & Co., Karen Delaney brings a practice shaped as much by steel factories in Hungary and artist residencies in post-communist Europe as by years spent teaching, curating, and quietly returning to the studio. Her work carries a sense of permanence and passage—materials shaped by time, memory, and movement—grounded in a career that has continuously evolved while remaining deeply committed to form, process, and place.

Now based along the Chesapeake Bay, Delaney’s latest body of work reflects a renewed intimacy with the natural world, where water, light, and horizon inform her sculptural language. The result is both grounded and expansive—an artist returning to her roots with clarity and conviction. Opening April 3, this exhibition marks not only her first presentation in Charleston, but the arrival of a singular voice whose work feels at once enduring and entirely of the moment.
