Panacea by Case Baumgarten

Stain and Ink on Canvas
63" x 48"

Panacea presents a delicate yet compelling interplay between presence and absence, between materiality and ephemera, through the careful interplay of stain and ink on canvas.  Case engages with a restrained palette that balances vibrant hues against muted tones to explore the tension between two figures poised in silent dialogue.

On the right, a female figure emerges with fluid, multichromatic brushwork- her contours both defined and fractured. Opposite, an ethereal counterpart manifests in subdued whites and pale blues-  the lips pronounced by a turquoise kiss.  Her faceless visage is rendered nearly spectral amidst swirling shades of gray, black, and white.

This contrast intimates an encounter between vitality and void, animation and stillness, suggesting a meditation on the liminal space bridging existence and its inevitable cessation.

"Heart of Lost Souls" by Regine Bechtler

Fired ceramic, glazes, 18K gold luster
7" x 5" x 4"
$1200

Forged in fire, sculpted by expert fingers and flames, Regine Bechtler's newest sculpture captures the intricate anatomical details of the human heart, blending biological precision with artistic abstraction.❤️‍🔥

Choosing to finalize the piece in real 18 carat gold luster, Regine creates an effect of both resilience and timelessness.💫

I was recently inspired by a moment of connectivity when artist and art history professor Jean Cauthen presented the High Renaissance/ Baroque concept of "Memento Mori:" symbolic works of art which remind us of the inevitability of death.

Bechtler's "Heart of Lost Souls" can indeed be interpreted as a Memento Mori,
while elevating the heart as a symbol of both life’s fragility and enduring spirit.✨️

Live artfully!❤️‍🔥

Shareon Blenman aka Bhare
Acrylic, Oil Pastel, and Oil Stick on Canvas
72 x 36 x 3 in
$9,000
Available at L.A N.D. Gallery/roam & dwell

Artist's Description: "It's not so much a question of if I could survive out at sea, exploring some of the great unknowns. Watching the boats teeter from side to side, anchored to the splitting wood under my feet. The water nourishes life as long as it keeps moving. Even if I lose my balance and fall above the algae, I believe the shore would cradle me gently. The allure of what lies beyond or beneath the teetering boats disrupts the tranquil moment."

In this keynote painting of Bhare's current solo exhibition, conventional maritime scenes are transcended, inviting the viewer into a narrative space where introspection and the unknown converge seamlessly. The imagery of boats swaying on a delicate wooden dock serves as a metaphor for life's equilibrium, balanced precariously between stability and the abyss. The fluidity of water, emblematic of life's continual motion, is portrayed with masterful texture and dynamic color profiles that evoke a sense of perpetual nourishing vitality.

Embedded within the composition's tranquil yet dynamic atmosphere is an undercurrent of curiosity and serenity. This work is pivotal within the artist’s solo exhibition, "drinking water could cure heavy feelings," acting as a thematic cornerstone that elucidates water's dual role as both sustenance and a symbol of emotional and spiritual buoyancy.

◇Kindly DM for inquiries and experience this pivotal work and Bhare's new collection at L.A.N.D Gallery/ Roam & Dwell (1226 Central Ave /Plaza Midwood), on view now through September 14.🌊🌀⛵️💧
