Excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at our new storage ✨

Storage is a premium—especially for a museum located in a historic house. Since we’re not a conventional museum space, we’ve had to get creative in how we preserve and protect our collection.

Special thanks to the Tennessee State Museum for supporting this project and recognizing that preservation starts with proper storage. This is a big step forward for us 🏛️

The scaffolding is down 🙌 and for the first time, we’re seeing the beautiful brick and stonework of our elevator shaft revealed.

The mortar is still drying, but it’s already giving us a glimpse of what’s to come… and we couldn’t be more excited watching this expansion come to life.

Lots more details soon ✨

There’s a special kind of magic in reopening boxes that have been sealed for over five years 💫

As we begin moving Anna’s collection back into the house, each layer of bubble wrap reveals a new surprise — pieces we haven’t seen in years, each with its own story to tell.

This week’s discovery: the most beautiful opalite vases, glowing softly as if they’ve been waiting patiently for their return.

And somehow, it feels even more serendipitous knowing Taylor Swift has a song by the same name — a reminder that beauty, memory, and meaning have a way of circling back when the time is right.

We can’t wait to share more of these moments as the collection comes home 🤍

148 years later and Anna Safley Houston’s collection of decorative arts is still bringing people together 💗

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us 🍷 We honored Anna’s love of pink cranberry glass by pairing pieces from her collection with sustainable rosé wines.

Anna lived sustainably long before it was a trend — traveling by train, collecting antiques, and passing beauty down through generations. Like wine, art holds history, tells stories, and invites us to slow down.

Cheers to Anna’s legacy — and to creativity, community, and keeping things meaningful… because life would be pretty boring if we were all the same 🍷✨

When we began the preservation of the house, we first had to pack up centuries of history 📦

Now, moving it all back in, we’re seeing Anna’s collection with completely fresh eyes… and realizing there’s magic in the parts no one usually notices 🤎
