The mission of "First Friday" Chattanooga is to promote and support local artists by providing them a regular outlet to showcase their work. The First Friday night of each month, "participating" Chattanooga galleries & studios extend operating hours, host art opening recepti

ons & open house events to showcase the local arts culture -- a monthly Art Crawl or Gallery Hop. First Friday is a national and global concept with a united goal of connecting the community with the artists on a consistent basis to ensure the arts community thrives and survives. Event posts on the news feed (timeline) are made by individual participating galleries & artist studios each month prior to their FIRST FRIDAY Openings that are hosted on the 1st Friday of each month. Only gallery events hosted on the FIRST FRIDAY of the month are posted here. Event times are established between 5:00-9:00 pm and are set by each gallery. First Friday Chattanooga represents a group of galleries & studios who participate voluntarily, so there is no single telephone number, email or location associated with the page. Our first community open call of the year, Anything Goes, is an open call celebrating creative freedom in all its forms. No theme. No medium restrictions. No box to squeeze yourself into. This is your sign to submit the weird one, the tender one, the loud one, the quiet one, the โ€œI donโ€™t know where this belongsโ€ one.

We want to see what happens when artists are given full permission to just make what they make.

All mediums welcome
Emerging + established artists encouraged
