Join us for a fascinating special presentation exploring The History of Electric Cars from 1890 to 2026!
While electric vehicles often feel like modern technology, the history of battery-powered transportation stretches back well over a century. Long before modern EVs took over the highways, early inventors and engineers were experimenting with electric propulsion, creating luxurious and quiet alternatives to steam and gasoline cars.

This special edition of Fuel for Thought is presented by Ken Litchfield, a car restorer and interior specialist with over 45 years of experience in the automotive restoration field. Having personally worked on remarkable electric vehicles such as a 1906 Columbia and a 1965 Corvair, we’re excited to have Ken bring a wealth of hands-on expertise to the stage.

He will trace the evolution of the electric car through the decades and share insights into what it takes to convert a traditional car to electric power today. If you are a car restorer, an EV enthusiast, or simply curious about the past, present, and future of automotive technology, this talk will offer an incredible look under the hood of electric car history!

• 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Doors Open & Museum Open Hours (Enjoy complimentary cookies and refreshments!)
• 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Presentation & Q&A
• 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Museum Open Hours

We want to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to the 300+ people who joined us on October 8th for our final event of the year. Seeing the grounds PACKED with stunning cars, families, friends, and local car lovers is what it's all about!!

A special shoutout to the Alan Puckett Project for the fantastic live music, Crusty Digglers CRUSTY DIGGLERS PIZZA for keeping everyone fed with their delicious pizza and every single person who brought their ride out this year. We are deeply honored to share some wonderful news with our community: Last Friday, the Stahls Automotive Foundation was named ‘Nonprofit of the Year’ by the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce!

Receiving this award, specifically for identifying a need and making a charitable difference right here in our local community, means the world to our entire team.
At Stahls, we’ve always believed the Motors & Music Experience is hard to describe: somewhere between a gathering place, a shared classroom, a way to give back to the incredible neighbors and organizations who support us year after year, and so much more!

We love rallying behind our veterans during our annual open house, teaming up with groups like Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, and simply giving people a welcoming place to connect. Being a positive force right here in our own backyard is what drives us every single day.

Thank you to the Anchor Bay Chamber for this incredible recognition, and thank you to every single person who visits, volunteers, and supports our mission. We are just getting started!! 🚗🎶

The 1932 Rohr 8 Type F Streamliner wasn't just our 2026 Best of Show winner 🏆🎉

This stunning vehicle also took home:
🏆 1st place in the European Full Classic (1916-1948) class
🏆 The People's Choice Award

Acquired by Mary Stahl in 2024, this unique Rohr joined the Stahls Automotive Foundation in Chesterfield, Michigan. The Rohr F8 was designed by Austenrieth of Darmstadt, Germany and built by Rohr Manufacturing in Oberamstadt, Germany.

Under the bonnet is a Ferdinand Porsche-designed 3.3-litre 8 cylinder-in-line engine. The car has aluminum coachwork, with integrated bumpers, a deep-bed chassis offering increased rear legroom, a multi-functional steering wheel, a lacquered dashboard, and high quality wood tweed interior.

It was previously showcased at the Paris Motor Show in 1932, and subsequently at the Geneva Salon, then at the International Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition in Berlin, Germany, the following year.

Following World War II, this Rohr was discovered by an American Military officer and imported to the United States. During the '60s it was owned by Antique Automobile Club of America president Edgar Rohr, who showed it regularly at AACA events.

Acquired by a German collector in 1999, the Rohr was sent to Europe, where it went through an extensive professional Concours restoration in Odenwald, Germany.
