Push hard to reach the highest,
Fall to the bottom instantly.
Some people try to escape,
Some enjoy being trapped.
Immersed in the world of NFT,
Sisyphean circle seems to be our daily,
As some kind of non-fungible memory.

Thank you to all the organizer and everyone involved in “Digital Expressions”, a co-curated exhibition by .art and .
It is my greatest honor to have the opportunity to participate in such a grand event.

Exploring the essence and meaning, always consciously choosing and discarding, I open up communication with the world through different creations.
"Σίσυφος" aims to convey this idea in a minimalist way, and I am honored to introduce it to you.
.
I believe everything I do is a continuous exploration of the essence and meaning of life, involving conscious choices and sacrifices. My preferred mode of exploration is through various forms of creation, opening up a dialogue between myself and the world. Through this, I come to know friends who share my appreciation for context and essence. By fate, I stumbled upon the decentralized blockchain world and began creating my own NFT art.
My artwork "Σίσυφος" is an attempt to interpret the contradiction between the pursuit of excellence and the realization of failure using minimal geometric shapes. By utilizing a group of 16 interconnected images, I aim to present the concept of "frameworks and limitations" and the life cycle that only becomes visible with self-awareness. As ordinary people in this era, we always try to escape and inevitably experience being unaware of the framework we are in. This process seems to become more prominent in the world of NFTs. Like the Sisyphean cycle of endless effort and falling, it has become a part of our daily life and a shared memory that we all have in the world of non-fungible memories/tokens.
Σίσυφος is the Greek word for the famous mythological character "Sisyphus". Sisyphus was a punished man in Greek mythology who was condemned to push a boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down every time he reached the top. This cycle continued endlessly, serving as a symbol for futile and never-ending tasks.
Visually, I use "yellow" to represent the seemingly dazzling and transparent living environment, symbolizing hope and boundless unknown. On the other hand, the contrasting color "blue" is used to present the seemingly turbid but energetically rich foundation of life, representing all that supports us and the life circumstances that both help and hinder us. As for the various challenges that inevitably come with pain and passion, they are the most prominent "red," and we always exert all our strength to push these challenges to the peak of life, only to fall into the valley in the blink of an eye. The environment and circumstances we face always exist, and we can only cycle through them in an endless loop of effort and contradiction.
As an NFT creator and explorer, I often contemplate how to approach the existence of frameworks. Initially, we unconsciously accept and are conditioned by them until chance encounters allow us to detect their subtle signs and start to resist. Those who have broken through these frameworks and made progress will inevitably cause some level of destruction, while also leading others to discover and promote the cycle of change. Currently, I find myself caught between the boundaries and fissures of these frameworks, constantly engaging with others who are in the same position. Once I became aware of this state, my thoughts, actions, and habits started to exist simultaneously on multiple levels, and as I move through daily life, everything becomes more fluid and occasionally, I even feel a sense of transcendence.
Σίσυφος belongs to my "DEBRIS OF MEMORY" series, which originated from my annual creative project "DEBRIS". It was initially composed of six letters: Delete, Equalize, Believe, Replace, Involve, Stimulate, and laid the foundation for the conceptual framework of this series. The six letters' first letters form the word "DEBRIS", which has connotations of ruins, debris, dust, and filth, just like the world we live in and everything we experience throughout our lives, all accumulated from countless fragmented moments. They seem incredibly significant but exist in our unreliable memories like debris and ruins.
The root and essence of this concept have influenced every piece in my DEBRIS series. I use non-narrative, fragmented prompt and AI art tools to generate sketches, which I then debris further. Using my skills with digital media, I edit and create high-resolution digital artworks, in 16000 x 24000 pixel, 300 dpi PNG format. My intention is for viewers and collectors to appreciate every detail of the work through an appropriate medium, such as a large screen or high-quality printing, and every detail is the DEBRIS of the artwork itself.
Thank you for your patient reading of my DEBRIS series. If you are interested in my works, please follow me on Twitter or visit my Linktree (https://linktr.ee/articpoor) for more information. Thank you all.
