Magic Mirror @ the Cincinnati Museum of Art. What a wonderful discovery.

A small bronze mirror, locked away in storage at the Cincinnati Art Museum, had always seemed unremarkable. But the artifact had a secret hiding in plain sight.

My mother had an aluminum kettle where she boiled water for tea or coffee. When one of my cousins relocated she gave it to him as she wanted to continue to be a presence in his life. I actually never thought he valued the gesture. By the time I visited him in his new location, the kettle was not place to be found- he did not know so... Who knows where the kettle ended up! And in working with the image, I am reminded of the spiritual meaning of birds: elevation, enlightenment, hope, and wisdom.
Enjoy it!
