Our mission is to stimulate and preserve knowledge and appreciation of Mexican culture through events and exhibitions that exemplify the rich variety of visual and performing arts in Mexican culture. The National Mexican Museum of Art is a vibrant and welcoming place where you can experience authentic Mexican art and culture outside of Mexico, and admission is always free. We showcase 3,000 years

creativity through a cultural crossroad that connects Chicagoans and suburbanites to the diversity of Mexican people.

• Located in Chicago’s Pilsen community, we provide an authentic cultural experience while following the highest standards of other local museums.

• Our curators and educators are experts in Mexican art and their passion for the museum inspires and enlightens visitors. We routinely lend many of our pieces to museums around the globe, because they value the caliber of our artwork.

• Over the years we have inspired, educated and empowered tens of thousands of children and youth through arts programs.

• We are accessible. Public transportation is available to get to our Museum, admission is always free, staff on hand to guide visitors, our art is displayed in a manner that lets the visitor feel connected to the exhibition

Workshops should align with themes and materials from the Museum's current exhibitions and target adults ages 18 and up. If selected, this paid opportunity will allow you to collaborate with the Museum's Education and Engagement Specialist to ensure that the workshop stimulates knowledge and appreciation of Mexican art and culture. This month, we will highlight Images of Faith: 3000 Years of Spiritual Expressions in Mexico. In this workshop, we will use embossing techniques to create recessed images onto a thin sheet of metal. We are thrilled to announce the theatrical release and tour of ASCO: WITHOUT PERMISSION, a film proudly supported by the National Museum of Mexican Art. The film opened on May 22nd at the Village East Angelika in NYC, will head to Lumiere Cinema on May 28th in LA, and Milagro Cinemas on May 29th in Norwalk.
