On June 1st, we celebrate Children’s Day in Poland! At the Polish Museum of America, we extend our warmest wishes to all children – both the young and the young at heart. Childhood is a time of curiosity, imagination, discovery, and wonder. No matter our age, those qualities continue to enrich our lives and help us connect with the world around us.

The Polish Museum of America had the pleasure of hosting Mary Ann Stickler-Krupa and her husband during a recent visit to the Museum. Mary Ann’s father was comic artist Julian S. Krupa, creator of the comic strips for the comic book “Przygody Ryszarda” (1936), which she generously donated to the PMA collection in 2014. During her visit, she had the opportunity to revisit the strips and see them once again as part of the Museum’s collection. We sincerely thank Mary Ann for her visit and for her continued connection to her father’s artistic legacy preserved at the PMA.

On Monday, May 25, we observe Memorial Day - a federal holiday dedicated to honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who lost their lives in military service. Originally established after the Civil War as “Decoration Day,” the holiday became a national day of remembrance for all American service members who died in wartime. Throughout American history, countless Polish Americans also served in the armed forces and made sacrifices in defense of their adopted homeland.
Please note that the Polish Museum of America and PRCUA offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday. Wishing all a safe and peaceful holiday weekend!
