I'm sure some of you remember this place on Ave. 'O'. The Kolo Club. Many thanks to Ray Kawa for the drink chips and to Debbie Ziemek Glinski for letting me take pictures of her menu from this establishment.

Here is a wonderful piece donated from a great Hegewisch guy, Bob Zajac . Blondie's was a local establishment at the NorthWest intersection of 134th & Brandon Ave. What a lot of bars/taverns do now is drink chips; this one did a tear out coupon. Please feel free to share any stories or photos you may have.

For this week's taste of Hegewisch History, I bring to you Lenart Florist. This one is near and dear to my family's heart. Starting November 1st, 1954 by Matt Lenart, then my father Ken Miotk Sr. started working there in the 1960's and eventually took over as owner and ran it until October 2nd, 2010. The place my mom, siblings, cousins, family members and friends spent a lot time at. Watered lots of Holiday flowers and took thousands of deliveries Here are some artifacts such as one of the original business cards, a flower order form and a wedding order form. Feel free to comment on your experiences here.

For this week's look at Hegewisch History. A brick, a locker key, and a drink card from Hegewisch Lanes. My first official job in 1994. Was a pleasure working for Don Kiran and George Lembas. Donated by Jim and Charmaine Layman . Met many great people at this place. Definitely miss seeing a lot of them.

Happy birthday Ken Miotk Jr.

This business card was recently donated by a nice gentleman, Al Swiatek. He had posted it in a few other pages and I wanted to share it here as well. It is now part of the collection. I worked here for 10 years starting in 1996. Was able to meet many people and even become great friends with some. Great memories at this store. Bill was a good guy to us. I shall continue to post Hegewisch items from our past. Feel free to post your memories of this place. And, if there is anything you come across related to our neighborhood that you may not want, please feel free to reach out. KMjr

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Ken Miotk Jr Hegewisch History Museum page. I'm currently working on opening a much deserved location for all things Hegewisch. Your support is appreciated. If anyone is cleaning out the house, or comes across anything Hegewisch related, please reach out. Items such as pens, receipts, matchbooks, calendars, would work greatly. Thank you for your support. Ill keep all updated. -Kenny Miotk Jr
