Today was a beautiful and meaningful morning at the 50th Anniversary Vietnam Memorial event hosted by our team here at the Washington County Historical Society. It was an honor to capture such a heartfelt ceremony as our community came together to remember, reflect, and honor the lives and sacrifices of Vietnam veterans.

From the reading of names to the wreath laying, every moment carried deep meaning. It was powerful to see so many members of our community show up in support, standing together in remembrance and gratitude.

Thankful we had the opportunity to photograph such a special event and preserve these moments for our community. 🇺🇸

Before the U.S., before statehood there was Spanish Florida.

Step back into “La Florida” with renowned archaeologist and historian Judith Bense on March 27 at Voices of Pensacola for a fascinating dive into the state’s earliest chapter.

In this engaging author talk, Bense explores her latest book, "Early Spanish Florida: Unearthing the History of America’s Oldest Colony"—a sweeping look at 250 years of Spanish exploration in the Southeast.

Through maps, artifacts, excavation images, and original documents, Bense brings Florida’s past to life.

📚Copies of "Early Spanish Florida" will be available for purchase at the event.
