The last project this summer! Took a bit longer than expected, and still needs decals! So what is it? It’s a rebuild of the old 40/8 replica of the
40/8 French box cars that were used during both WW1,and WW2 to transport both men and horses to the front lines. The reason they were called 40/8 is because they could hold either 40 men, or 8 horses! They were a huge reason we won the wars, and the American VFW’s built their own versions across the country to pay tribute to the French people! There is to this day a 40/8 organization alive in this country!🇺🇸

The Museum invites you to enjoy a warm beverage and sweet treats at the Castle.

Slide the hillsides in daylight, then watch the giant haul truck light up at dusk.

Well it’s the end of the year, and the Museum is closed,BUT wait you get a couple more chances this season to stop in and see what we’ve done this summer. The Museum will be open a few more days!
Saturday October 12, 9-5, for races at the Red Head Trail during the Mn Cycling Championship! &
Friday ,and Saturday 10-5 October 18/19 on MEA weekend! Stop by and enjoy!

What a great day for Kiwanis Kids Day at the Minnesota Museum of Mining! 500 kids were present to enjoy everything from 2 bounce houses, a poney ride, two fire trucks , an ambulance, Duluth Zoo, a balloon blower, and magic show! Plus all the Museum to run around in. They brought in around a hundred volunteers to make the day great for the kids. They always make it a great day for the kids! Thank you to everybody that came to support the kids!

The snow is gone, and the weather is warming! That must mean the Museum will be opening soon, so please put us in your summer travel plans. Come join the activities, and see changes we’ve made! Opening Memorial weekend 2023!

It’s been a long snowy , cold winter at the Museum! All we can do is hope the weather gets better! But don’t worry the gates will open Memorial Weekend! So please stop by this summer and check all the hard work from last summer, and projects left to do! Hope to see you all this summer!🚂🏰

What a great day it turned out to be for Kids Day at the Musseum! From bounce castle, to petting Zoo the kids were kept busy running a obstacle course, to playing bean bags, and many other games! This event was sponsored by the Chisholm Kiwanis, and the City of Chisholm. A big thank you to all that participated!🚂 🏰
