Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society Museum

Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society Museum CAHS is an Ohio non-profit corporation. EIN 20-8685010 AAA is now one of the historic Airlines in American Airlines genealogy.

CAHS Museum is custodian of the documentation for the Aeronca C-3 in Lunken Lobby and we have five airplanes of our own. We have a 1958 Smith termite acquired from the former Ohio History of Flight Museum, a Hovey Whing Ding II Bi-Wing ultralight which warps the wings to bank and turn similar to the 1903 full scale Wright Flyer replica in our collection. We also have a genuine 1939 Stinson SR-10C

Reliant Air Mail Pick-Up plane that was in service from 1939-1949 for All American Airways. We welcome prospective new members so we can start having meetings again and plan our future. The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on your museum. We couldn’t have visitors and now as the situation begins to ease, we had to put the museum contents in storage. As things change in the next 24 months, keep checking here for information as it’s possible our web site and current telephone number will go away as well. CAHS is a 501c3 Organization...Determination Letter and Corporation Documents available on request.

Hello World! Did you know that you can help CAHS through choice giving in this giving season? Meet your required minimum (if you’re 72 or older) without paying taxes on the distribution, up to 100k per year.

We hope you’ll make a choice in helping CAHS with its day to day needs like insurance, communications costs and storage of the museum objects. As we struggle to meet these needs we need your love of aviation and support.

Our address and information is on our web site (cahslunken.org) Contact Us button. You can also Private Message us right here on FB.

The museum needs your help as a member or donor. Our Board is up for election in January. We need new blood with social and fundraising skills to help save our museum. It’s in danger of going away due to the terminal building closure. Please consider being a part of saving it.

One week from today, our member group formerly known as the Old Timers will meet at 11:00AM at Scramblers 7453 Wooster Pike just outside Mariemont. If you’d like to be added to my notifications list, please email [email protected].

If you’ve been associated with Cincinnati aviation for 40-50 years, you might be one of our new ‘Old Timers’. I’m looking for some new faces/muscle to see CAHS into the future by helping care for our museum objects.

Thank you.

We’re still trying to rebuild membership after closure of our air terminal museum at Lunken Airport. We need civic minded folks interested in the history of civilian aviation in our area.

Saving Hangar 3 is topmost in our minds as it involves protecting museum assets.

Another facet of our plan would be constructing a hangar on part of the original Lunken Family acreage. We’re open to sharing naming rights to what E B Lunken suggested as the Edmund Lunken Aviation Museum. Again, contact Charlie and he’ll arrange a meeting with Mr. Lunken to pursue this effort.
