Downtown Artists Cooperative

Downtown Artists Cooperative Receptions for the public are held during each First Thursday ArtWalk from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

We are 40+ local artists who are committed to presenting fine art exhibitions in a welcoming environment and providing our patrons and guests the opportunity to experience a broad range of artistic expression in our main and extension galleries. The DAC space at 96 Franklin Street has a fine arts gallery for monthly exhibitions by member artists as well as other local artists through our regular o

utreach shows. We also have a retail gallery space where full and consignment members show their work on an ongoing basis, including paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media works, jewelry, ceramics and other items produced by a creative variety of local talent. Additional outreach to the community includes: Extension Galleries (exhibitions) at the Clarksville Montgomery County Library and Gateway Hospital; workshops, gallery talks, lectures, readings, etc scheduled at DAC and in the community; and sponsorship of and affiliation with other creative groups by providing meeting space and support as possible.

DACster Rochelle Wasserman brings us 'If I Only Had A Heart' in acrylic featured in our Spires Window Display this month as we celebrate 'Love is in the Air'. Most everyone would recognize the Tin Man happily skipping down the Yellow Brick Road on his way to find his heart.

It's a team effort when Steve Chlupsa and Pat Finney work together to keep our DAC Gallery maintained for our customer's optimum viewing pleasure. We love being able to show a variety of fine art in our historic downtown building and we couldn't do it without our Facility Team's dedication and TLC. Thanks to you both!

This month, DACster Ruth Sisson brings a moody ethereal piece to the DAC with 'A Quiet Place'. This exceptionally atmospheric landscape oil painting showcases her mastery and speaks to us through her use of contrast, shadows and muted tones. We invite you to drop into the DAC to feel this story rather than just look.
