How great is this cigar box top advertisement from Barton Drug in Clarksville circa 1897? Pictured are Bill Wight Walker and Raymond Norris. Bill was a Clarksville feature for many years famous for his hamburgers and chili. Raymond was the son of H L Norris who operated the Norris Saloon on the west side of the square. He was also the brother of longtime Clarksville School bus driver, Louie Norris.

Please join us on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Clarksville Cemetery for a Texas State Historical marker honoring Albert Hamilton Latimer. Latimer was one of five signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence from the Red River District and a founder of the Presbyterian Church in Texas. The cemetery is located at 700 West Washington in Clarksville.
