Plumb Grove in Bloom is today from 1-4pm. There is no rain in the forecast, and there is a promise of the sun peeking out for a tiny bit around 2pm. Stop by and see the roses, come inside the house for a self guided tour and see the amazing collection of Uncle Sam's throughout, and enjoy lunch while you're there (cost of lunch is by donation). There are some great options including chicken and tuna salad on sourdough bread, potato salad, and strawberry shortcake. We're looking forward to seeing you there! The event is FREE; however, we do gratefully accept donations that will be used to help continue to preserve history in the Clear Spring District and beyond!

Come for lunch today at Plumb Grove between 1-4pm. There are several yummy options and a warm place to sit and eat in the Social Room. The cost is by donation. The house will be open for self-guided tours, tour the grounds and see the roses that have bloomed, and enjoy a relaxing lunch while visiting with friends.

The Plumb Grove Mansion will be open on Sunday during Plumb Grove in Bloom. Step back in time as you enjoy wandering through the house on a self-guided tour. An amazing display of Uncle Sam figurines will be on display. If you're not a member of the CSDHA, we encourage you to join! Membership is only $10 a year and will be used to help preserve the history of the Clear Spring District!

Mark your calendars to stop by the Clear Spring Special Events Building on May 15 to have dinner, visit the participants in the James Shaull Wagon-National Pike Festival and James Shaull Wagon Train-Maryland, and take your chances of winning something in their Chinese Auction.

We will be holding a CHINESE AUCTION, on the evening of May 15, 2026 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm at The Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Bingo Hall Facilities, located at 12323 Big Spring Road, Clear Spring, MD 21722.

AUCTION WILL RUN FROM 5 pm to 7:30pm and drawing will be held at 7:30 pm. **NO NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN, TICKETS WILL HAVE NAME AND NUMBER ON BACK OF THEM**

How does our CHINESE AUCTION work?

You buy tickets, choose your favorite prizes on the auction table, and drop as many tickets in the baskets for each prize you wish to.

🎟️ You buy an individual ticket, or multiple tickets, or a sheet(s) of tickets.

💰$1.00 for each ticket
💰$5.00 for 6 tickets
💰$20.00 for a full sheet of tickets (25 tickets)

🎟️ Each prize will have its own basket/ticket container

🎟️You drop the amount of tickets you want in each baskets for the prize you wish of your choice.

🎉Only ONE TICKET will be drawn per prize, and you could be the lucky winner! 🎉

Today would be a great day to visit Fort Frederick! Don't let the forecast scare you away! Stop by the Tavern on the Potowmack manned by the CSDHA for some soup, sandwich, and delicious dessert!

Fort Frederick State Park, located in Big Pool, turns into a full 18th century marketplace later this week. See artisans working by hand, rows of canvas tents, and goods you won’t find anywhere else.

The 18th Century Market Fair runs April 23 to 26, rain or shine. If you’re planning to come, wear comfortable shoes. There’s a lot to see and plenty of ground to cover.
