Finished product..."Evolution of an Idea". This will probably be the first of a series. I enjoyed the process and would like to create something similar now that I worked it out and can take more time. This piece will be on display starting tomorrow through April 13th at the Safety Harbor Library and you can purchase a chance to win it! Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Please stop by if you are local and check out all of the work that has been donated to support the library!

Hello all! I apologize for my seemingly neverending absence, but I'm working my way back into my work. Anyone that has arthritis issues can tell you how painful it can be and the challenges that this disease creates. As an artist I use my hands to create what I envision in my mind, but my body has betrayed me. This betrayal has caused discomfort, confusion, and extreme doubts about my abilities and what happens next? I've come to grips with some of my issues and I'm trying to get back on track. My inspiration for this is creating a piece for my old friends at the Safety Harbor Library! I loved creating a couple chairs for their fund raisers in the past, and this year they are asking for a painted canvas. It's been a long time coming and slow going, but I'm almost finished and will deliver my work tomorrow. I will post final pictures when it's finished and plan to keep producing as much work as possible in the future. Thank you all for your continued interest and support...especially to my constant source of inspiration Kathy Jones! I love you...a whole bunch!

Hello...yes...I’m still here! I’ve been working on many projects with Lazy Gecko Travel to get our business and our logo on track. I’m still working on many interpretations of our logo and business plans for the future. It would be greatly appreciated if you would consider using our service to book your next trip! Local or global...we can help with no extra cost to you! Now...down to brass tacks...coming soon, a new approach to creating art. New!...because I’ve had to make many changes to my approach as to how I create my work. The intense pain that I have become accustomed to is from arthritis. Yes...my joints are gone, and I’m not afraid to say that it PAINFUL AS HELL! I apologize for the harsh language, but I also feel that you all need to know where I’m coming from. Having your joints degrade from good to gone is a challenge...it hurts. I can feel (and hear) my thumb joints going...bone on bone...and it isn’t pleasant. Still...there are MANY out there dealing with much more than me, and they are in my thoughts and prayers EVERY DAY! My challenge is to come up with ways to still create and use art as an outlet for my thoughts, ideas, and feelings. So...coming soon...I plan to incorporate techniques that will help all of us with dexterity issues to still be an artist. It won’t be easy, and it will take a lot of trial and error, but we will get there together!

I truly believe that everyone is an artist. Art is much more than drawing, painting, or performing. Merriam-Webster defines art as "a skill acquired by experience, study, or observation". Everyone on this planet has had many types of experiences, has studied something, and has observed the world around us in many ways. You may not believe you are an artist, but step back...take a breath...think about what you know, what you do, what you have experienced. Now think about what you wish you could do, and do it. Think about what you wish you knew, and learn it. Think about all of the things that you wish you could experience, and experience them. That is what an artist does, and we all have that in us. I have known for some time that Jim Carrey is much more than an actor, comedian, and performer...he is an artist. I love this short film about his work, where it comes from, and what it means. As an artist and art teacher I believe that every student of the world (ages 1-100+) should see this. I am a fan of Mr. Carrey's work as an actor, but this has just become my favorite film (clocking in at 6:19) that he has ever made!

Hello all...Happy New Year! I've been away for a long time, but the creative gears have been turning...to be honest they NEVER stop. Due to my ever growing arthritis issues I've been exploring new options for the future to allow me to continue creating work without quite so much suffering. I have an older iPad and was considering upgrading, but after some research I stumbled upon the Lenovo Yoga Book. I have to say to all artists and creative people in general that this thing is AMAZING! I have been downloading some creative apps and playing around to learn the basics, but one thing on my New Years list is to get skilled on this machine so that I can make some new work in the digital realm. Please don't forget me and stay tuned! So many possibilities for the upcoming year. Stay safe, happy, healthy, and tell all of your loved ones how much they mean to you. Looking forward to a positive and prosperous 2017! Peace and love my friends!

Getting back to work. Wire sculpture and water mixable oils. Arthritis be damned...I'll work through the pain. That's what artists do.

Hello all! I'm sad to look back and see that it has been close to a year since my last work was posted. I have still been working and I have some things that will be coming soon. It has been a real challenge to keep up with my personal work due to my arthritis issues. My hands just aren't what they used to be...sadly. It has taken all of my focus to just get through the past school year and the next will be starting on August 1st. Not to mention the digital arts camp and the curriculum/planning trainings that will take up 10 days of this short summer. I don't know what the future holds, but I will keep creating as long as the Lord above allows! Thanks for looking and I will see you soon. Peace and Love

Got the notification from the Morean Arts Center. They accepted 59 out of 350 pieces for the All-Florida exhibit. Sadly, none of my were included. Oh well...that's how the art world works. Maybe next show...better start some new work...
