Clemson University Arthropod Collection

Clemson University Arthropod Collection Today we house about 1.5 million specimens of insects and other arthropods from South Carolina and the greater southeastern U.S.

The Clemson University Arthropod Collection dates back to Clemson University's founding in 1887 (though a 1925 fire wiped out much of what was accumulated to that time). Our main strengths are in aquatic insects, especially caddisflies (Trichoptera), and beetles.
