I want to share this because I know a few guys who taught me how to be a professional p-3 crewman. This is why. Hats off to my chiefs. Fair winds.

Great idea - let's focus more on feeding our kids at school over forcing religion on them.

CRIMINAL: The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that the Republican's "Big Beautiful" budget bill will result in 11.8 MILLION Americans losing health insurance by 2034, due to deep funding cuts to Medicaid.

BREAKING: MAGA oligarch Elon Musk goes scorched earth on Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" and exposes a jaw-droppingly destructive piece of the legislation that's been underreported.

He helped created this monster and now he's screaming for it to stop...

"The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country! Utterly insane and destructive," Musk wrote in a largely overlooked post on X. "It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future."

He quote-tweeted a post from Jesse D. Jenkins, an Associate professor at Princeton University, who wrote that the legislation is "unbelievably bad" and that the Senate version of the bill got "WORSE overnight than even the House version."

"This One Big Horrible Bill will raise energy costs, kill $100s of billions of new investment in energy & manufacturing, make our grid less reliable, increase pollution, and constrain our ability to compete with China for the future or AI," wrote Jenkins. "Total loser stuff."

"The new Senate draft raises taxes on all wind and solar projects that haven't begun construction today unless they are placed service by end of 2027 and navigate complex, likely unworkable requirements to prove they don't use a drop of Chinese materials," he went on. "After that, this bill ADDS A NEW tax on wind and solar projects that can't prove the same."

The all-out assault on renewable energy and handouts to fossil fuel companies is, of course, no accident. The Republican Party under Donald Trump still pretends that climate change is a "hoax" because they are financially incentivized to do so. Fossil fuel companies have donated handsomely to the MAGA movement. Trump himself met with oil executives at Mar-a-Lago before the election and promised to help their bottom lines if they donated $1 billion to his campaign.

The fact that the oil industry is praising this bill tells you everything you need to know about it. These companies are destroying our planet for profit, leaving future generations to pay the price for their greed. If they love a piece of legislation, it means that it's a disaster for the rest of us.

"This historic legislation will help usher in a new era of energy dominance by unlocking opportunities for investment, opening lease sales and expanding access to oil and natural gas development," said Mike Sommers, CEO and President of the American Petroleum Institute.

Of course, all of that "investment" is meaningless if we don't have a habitable planet.

The bill strips away crucial tax credits for renewable energy that were put into place by President Biden's historic Inflation Reduction Act because Republicans are actively opposed to those technologies. They'll happily keep our country locked in the past if it means they can remain in power. By gutting our access to cutting edge energy technology, they're assuring that the United States falls far behind other countries — most notably China.

Of course, Musk should have known better. The Republican Party's position on this issue has never been ambiguous. He either ignorantly thought that he could change their stance once he got them elected, or he simply failed to game things out to their natural conclusion. Whatever the case, he is largely responsible if this bill passes.

Joanna Slaney, the vice president for political and government affairs for the Environmental Defense Fund, has stated that the bill will make it "much, much harder to build new clean energy projects."

"It's clear that this deeply unpopular bill favors burning more fossil fuels while ignoring the damage it will do to people's lives," she added.

The House is supposed to vote on the bill today, meaning there is still time to call your representatives. Urge them not to destroy America's future!
