Porcelain Jazz is variations on the theme of clay, played around a potter's life. I've made anything and everything I could out of clay for many years now.

So dishes and beads, clay organizers and decorative tissue holders and fine art tiles for the wall are among a few of the handmade clay items that will pop up on this page. PorcelainJazz is the Etsy shop where these clay pieces may be bought. Recently I also started another Etsy shop called HouseholdAntiquities. My parent's estate is passing through this online store as well as many of the stories about their fascinating life as a foreign service couple in the United State's diplomatic corp.

The kiln is firing and these are some of the pottery pieces that are in it. I'm really anxious to see how some of my new forms and new glazes come out. Once finished, some of these pieces will be viewable at the upcoming Spring Fling Art Festival Sunday, March 22nd from 10am-6pm, at The Commons, 4950 Swinyar Drive, Collegedale, TN. We've got you covered. Our next clay hand-building class called Mugs and More is set for March 5th and 12th from 6-8pm. The $65 fee covers everything to produce a finished product. Make the bowls and serving dishes for your next event and wow all your friends. The Serving Bowls and Serving Dishes class starts next Tuesday, Jan 13 & 20, 6-8pm. It costs $65 for both a hand-building class and a glazing class. All materials and tools are included. Sign up for the class at Art at the Square in Bradley Square Mall, Cleveland TN or contact them for a link on the fb page, Art at the Square . All of the pieces pictured below can be made in this class.

Mugs and More, Thurs., March 5 & 12, 6-8 pm

Wheel Throwing Tutorials, To Be Arranged

Mugs and More is a hand-building class in which students learn to hand-build mugs, pitchers, vases, utensil holders, wine glasses, or any other cylindrical pottery item from wet clay slabs.
Three or more people can schedule any hand-building class at their convenience.
Wheel throwing classes are by tutorial only since there is only one wheel.

PotteryClasses # are taught by Cecily Gillespie of Porcelain Jazz at Art at the Square in Bradley Square Mall, Cleveland, TN
All materials, tools and firings are include in the $65 class fee for the hand-building classes. One on one tutorials are $150 for 4 hours of instruction.

The last of this year's pottery classes begins this coming Monday, Nov. 17th from 6-8pm at Art at the Square, Bradley Square Mall, Cleveland, TN. In 'Mugs and More' learn how to hand-build cylindrical pieces like mugs, vases, glasses, pitchers, jars, utensil holders and more. The $65 fee provides two, 2 hour classes of instruction plus all firings, glazes, clay and tools that are needed. To sign up contact Art at the Square .
