Interesting story behind this Blue Ribbon.
I’ve been test-printing my iPhone altered images onto textured metal. The process impregnates the image into the .5” aluminum plate ready to hang.
Because I’m still learning, the pixel count was so low that the image was blurred( figured out how to correct that now, but not sure I want to change it.
In the meantime I had a 16” x 24” piece of art I was ready to throw it in the trash.
I then bravely began embellishing the cacti with my typical gold pen. As I realized this was taken during a rare January snowstorm outside my home in southern Arizona , I began to further embellish the flakes with white metallic paint.
The blurred pixels blending with my surface embellishments has created one of my best pieces!
I’d love to know why 3 art judges chose it as first place in the Fine Art category at the 11th Annual Colors of Copper this past weekend.
I’m going to pursue this technique on my other art at www.irenesofia.com.
