Cloquet Sawmill lumber stacks, n.d. The aerial photos we have of these stacks don't show just how high they are! It's hard to imagine the amount of lumber just in Cloquet, let alone all of Carlton County!

Another interior photo of a Cloquet Sawmill, late 1800s or early 1900s. The sign on the left says "Winne Boujoun Selects". The sign on the light is hard to make out, but it looks like "UP?? River Cork Pine". After sorting, the logs go through the slots on either side, further into the sawmill.
