In 1931, Burroughs started to make it's path in the typewriter industry.

Burroughs (originally known as the American Arithmometer Company),
made typewriters, printers, and mainframe computers till 1986.

The San Joaquin Railroad began construction,
under the supervision of
Marcus Pollasky

Pollasky Ave (where the Clovis Museum is located),
was named after Mr. Marcus Pollasky,
a Michigan railroad speculator,
who later came to the Central Valley,
and aided in the creation of the railroad.

This railroad ran through the land that would become
the City of Clovis.

There are so many intricite pieces throughout the museum,
sometimems it is hard to catch them all.

This lovingly crafted leather craft exhibits some of the oldest registered brands
right here in the Fresno County.
Most, dating back to late 1800's

While going through the museum,
one of the most eye catching exhibits is the antique hair comb display.

Many combs,
including the one pictured,
have been on display for many years

They are a beauty to admire.

The combs were the collection of Lucretia McMurtry.

Lecretia McMurtry,
also known as Lulu,

was the first female grand marshal for the Clovis Rodeo.
She achieved this honor in 1982.
