This is truly unbelievable… Last month, as we sat in the hospital with our dad we received SO many wonderful messages, texts, comments, phone calls, emails, and cards. Amongst these messages, was an artist and a collector of Joe’s asking if we had plans to put together a fundraiser so they could donate work to auction off.
With everything going on at the time, we hadn’t even considered organizing something, but loved the idea and wanted to do whatever we could to ease the financial burden our dad would face after surgery.
We ended up calling our friends at Coeur d' Alene Galleries for advice and they basically said "We’ve got this!" Through their incredible efforts, the kindness and talent of the amazing artists who donated 30+ works of art, and the extreme generosity of collectors and peers, we ended up raising nearly $132,000!!! 🤯 We never imagined that a simple offer to donate a painting would result in an outcome of this magnitude.. Now that we’re here, we are so happy to report that Joe will be able to pay off the majority of his medical expenses with these funds!
We are eternally grateful to everyone who showed their support over the last ~6 weeks, not only monetarily, but also through kind messages, comments, social media shares, cards, flowers, prayers, and general encouragement! We have A LOT of individual thank you’s to send in the coming days, but for now please know we are so appreciative and optimistic for the future. Our hope is that not only will this experience lead to a new and improved lifestyle for our dad, but it will also result in some of his most inspired paintings yet ☺️🥰
