The Museum of North Idaho preserves and illuminates our past to inspire our future. Through educational exhibits and programs, we highlight the history of Kootenai, Benewah, and Shoshone counties. Permanent exhibits cover the Missoula Floods, Schitsu'umsh people, French fur traders, Fort Sherman, steamboats, mining, logging, railroads, union wars, forestry and fire lookouts, and Farragut Naval Tra

ining Station. Throughout the warmer season, MONI offers walking tours of Old Fort Sherman, Downtown Coeur d'Alene, Sanders Beach, and evening cemetery tours.

So grateful to receive funding for our summer camps so we can offer scholarships to families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to send their kid(s) to camp. Everyone should be able to learn about our history in a fun and welcoming environment. Camps start June 30th!

“This year’s applications showed the depth of service work happening across Kootenai County, along with great need within our community,” said Lindsey Morgan, Grants Co-Chair of the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club.

In 1776 Idaho did not exist, yet the victory that resulted from the American Revolution charted a course that literally shaped Idaho. Through the interaction of explorers and Native Americans, farmers and miners, environmentalists and developers, many of the crucial achievements of settling the west were illuminated. Idaho's unique geography reflects the reality of Revolution era thinkers. Join renowned historian Dr. F. Ross Peterson on June 10th as he describes why Idaho remains a beacon to the nation.
