The Collings-Knight House invites all our History Friends to celebrate the mid-point of our 200th Anniversary Years with a PICNIC at the House on Saturday, May 16th (Rain date May 17th). Bring your favorite picnic food and blanket; we will supply drinks and desserts. Tables and chairs will be available for those who are not blanket-inclined. There will be games and crafts for this family-friendly outdoor event, and plants to “adopt” for a donation. Our resident Girl Scouts will be in attendance to talk about their historic gardens and there will be House Tours at 1:00 and 2:00 pm. The event runs from 12 to 3 pm; there is no charge, but freewill donations are welcome. RSVP your intent via Facebook, email, or phone (see below).
We would also appreciate some help setting up and cleaning up - students needing service hours are encouraged to step up! Opportunities include setup (11:00 am -12 pm) and takedown (3-4 pm). Baking friends, we welcome your contributions: brownies, lemon squares, cookies etc can be dropped off 11:00-12 on the day of the picnic. Let us know what you’re bringing by email at [email protected] or leave a message at 856-240-7098. If possible, note any special ingredients (like nuts) in your baked goods.

You're invited!! Tonight, the doors of the Collings-Knight House are open for our annual Dickens-Era Holiday Party!

Come inside and warm up after the Parade of Lights from 7-9 PM.This family-friendly event will feature stories, poems and music by The Hidden Library, a scavenger hunt (with prizes!), hot cider, homemade cookies, costumed guides, games, and the glow of candlelight throughout this holiday-decorated, almost-200 year old historic house. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Historic costume is always admired, but never required.

There is no charge; freewill donations are welcome.

Note: if the parade is rained out, the party still goes on!

Dying for a dose of creepy this Halloween season? Look no further than "Tales from Poe," the Collings-Knight House's annual fund-raising event featuring our local high school volunteers, who will do their very best to leave you shivering in your seat as they bring to life Edgar Allan Poe's timeless masterpieces.

Join us for our closing night! Waste away with "The Oval Portrait," let "Shadow" bring back the fear of quarantine and contagion, shudder as the dead come to life in "Ligeia," enjoy the thrill of Poe's literary genius with "The Raven," take a side in "The Cask of Amontillado," and of course, cling to the edge of your seat for "The Tell-Tale Heart."

We still have several tickets left for our outdoor shows at 7:30 and 9:00 (bring a coat- there's a chill in the air!), and just a few for our 6:00 indoor show. Tickets are available at the door with cash or PayPal, and online through Zeffy.

The Collings-Knight House is thrilled to present our third annual performance of “Tales from Poe,” a hair-raising production featuring dramatic readings by student volunteers from Collingswood High School and Camden Catholic High School. Come see our talented cast as they bring to life several timeless, spooky tales from the Master of the Macabre himself, Edgar Allan Poe.

Performances are:

Friday, October 24th at 6:00 (indoor), 7:30 (outdoor), and 9:00 pm (indoor).

Saturday, October 25th at 6:00 (indoor), 7:30, and 9:00 pm (both outdoor).

Doors open 15 minutes before showtimes.

Tickets will be available both online (on Zeffy.com; link below) and at the door (cash and PayPal).

This production features a mix of indoor shows inside the Collings-Knight House's historic parlors, and outdoor shows presented on the House's beautifully refurbished back porch. Indoor shows feature limited seating. Our outdoor shows will have some patio seating (first come first serve), as well as a good amount of BYOB(lanket) seating on the lawn.
