John Goodwin, Retired National Park Service Ranger, Community Service Volunteer, Retired Colma City Council Mayor and Member, and Author of "Echoes of the Badge, Stories from a National Park Service Career" will be speaking on the book's recently published 2nd edition!

Our Secretary-Treasurer Richard Rocchetta hit it out of the ballpark with his presentation on "Baseball Players Who Are Buried In Colma!" Thank you to all who attended. We hope to see you at our next Quarterly Gathering/ Victorian Days Event on Sunday, July 20th. We will be hosting a walking tour of the Japanese Cemetery at 1300 Hillside Blvd. starting at 11am. Cemetery Tour field trip to Holy Cross Cemetery hosted by the Colma Recreation Department as a collaboration between Colma Historical Association and Holy Cross Cemetery!
Notable stops on the tour included:
-Holy Cross Receiving Chapel (slide 2): Opened in 1963, it features Philippine Mahogany and murals of the five Glorious Mysteries
-Priest Plot (slides 3+4): Archdiocesan and Order Priests headstones facing a central marble carving of the Last Supper
-Holy Cross Mausoleum (slides 5-7): Beautiful bronze work and marble friezes designed by artisan John McQuarrie and dedicated in 1921
-DiMaggio Vault (slide 8): Burial place of baseball player Joe DiMaggio
