The museum’s B-25J runs its engines. Though well-known for its role in the Pacific Theater, including the famous Doolittle Raid that was the first attack on Japanese home soil, it also served extensively in the North African and Mediterranean Theaters with the U.S. 12th Air Force. One of the museum’s two TBM Avengers takes flight. The Avenger made its combat debut at the Battle of Midway where it did not fare well, but went on to be a highly successful torpedo and conventional tactical bomber for the U.S. and Allied navies.

Of nearly 10,000 built during the course of World War II, roughly 40 remain airworthy today. Check us out at https://www.worldwariiaviation.org/.
