Like sending your kid off to college, sending art off to its new home with a collector, is a bittersweet moment: excitement for the collector and a sudden sense of loss for the gallery!? Well, we couldn't be happier, honestly, for this local collector, but it would have been nice if Marlene Kort's oil and gold leaf painting "Adele Bloch-Bauer" after Klimt's painting Lady in Gold was in the gallery for more than a few hours! Congratulations all around.

This couple who met online more than 27 years ago, from Long Island NY and Kansas, are celebrating their 27th year of marriage with a traditional gift to each other--precious wood symbolizing strength, stability, and enduring beauty! Now rooted in Colorado, they opted for an aspen burl by Hunter-Wolff Gallery's artist Jerry Wedkind.
A little trivia: Wedekind is a North German surname originating from ancient Germanic elements. It combines wid(u) (meaning "wood" or "forest") and kind (meaning "child" or "descendant"), translating roughly to "child of the forest". How appropriate for our woodturning expert Jerry Wedekind!

Another spectacular painting by Karen Storm going to its permanent home with the Roberts. We were so surprised to see them for our annual Red Carpet event since they had to drive to Colorado Springs from Texas where "Quiet Radiance" will now live with its new beautiful family.
