Coming up next at GOCA is Simulacra! We hope you’re as excited as we are.

In Simulacra, nature appears as an apparition. The exhibition considers how the natural world persists when our encounters are increasingly mediated by technology and threatened by ecological collapse. Bill Viola’s projected mountain fractures and reforms; Etsuko Ichikawa’s luminous field evokes wonder entangled with nuclear histories; Dornith Doherty’s lenticular seeds animate the archive of life, filled with potential even in the face of apocalypse. Together, these works suggest that mediation is both an obstacle and a place where attention and care take root in the Anthropocene.

Opening Reception: Friday June 26 5pm-8pm in the Marie Walsh Sharpe Gallery

Three pieces from the summer 2025 show, Justice of the Peace, are now installed and available to view on the second floor of the Ent Center for the Arts.

Justice for the COS
Katie Curcio, Rachel Dinda, Grace Wood

Justice of the Piece
Acrylic paint, aerosol on plywood panel, 96” × 48” (8’× 4), 2025

These pieces were part of GOCA’s 2025 summer show Justice of the Piece; an exhibition centering women and femme-identifying artists whose artworks are community-engaged tools for advocacy and solidarity. Artists Katie Curcio, Rachel Dinda, and Grace Wood were invited to create artworks embodying these themes in front of a live audience.
Justice of the Piece brought together internationally renowned artists, Lady Pink, Sydney G James, and Grow Love, three powerful voices in contemporary muralism who are reframing the wall as a site of protest, healing and solidarity. Spanning generations and geographies-these artists brought distinct practices rooted in shared commitments to justice, identity, and the right to be seen.
