The McKissick Museum is moving our collections to prepare for a major renovation. We hope you can join us Friday, December 5, our final exhibition day before we begin packaging thousands of artifacts and other items for the move.

We are hosting a closing reception from 4:00 to 5:30 pm on December 5 to celebrate the exhibitions "Generations: 100 Years of Arts at USC" and "From College to University 1801-2025: Highlights from McKissick Museum's Permanent Collections." The public is welcome!

A museum is more than a building and an exhibit. The McKissick Museum will transition to new space in 2026 to prepare for a renovation and a reimagining of the way we share art, history and culture with the community.

Another AAMG Conference Scholarship Recipient is Sarah Mielke, McKissick Museum's Curatorial Assistant. Sarah is a geologist by training and her work in making our natural history collections available through faculty outreach has been vital to getting our education collections into labs and classrooms and University of South Carolina students' hands. Thank you Sarah and congratulations!

Shout out to Jillian Abell, one of McKissick Museum's Magellan Scholars, who is the recipient of an AAMG scholarship. Jillian will graduate next week with a double major in studio art and art history. She will continue her professional development by attending the AAMG conference in New Mexico this summer. Congratulations, Jillian!

USC's largest college has a new name honoring the vision and generosity of a prominent alumnus and his family: the University of South Carolina McCausland College of Arts and Sciences.

The McKissick Museum will be closed through January 1, 2025. We will reopen on January 2 with normal hours: weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, closed on weekends. Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season!
