Historic Columbus has continued its investment in education through the Patricia Jackson Howard Scholarship, named in memory of our second executive director, Patti Howard. The scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors based on merit and need. Since the scholarship's inception, over $60,000 has been endowed to graduating seniors in Patti’s memory.
We are thrilled to announce that the 32nd Howard Scholarship was awarded to three graduating seniors!
Brianna Boyd graduated from Northside High School and will attend Kennesaw State, where she plans to further her education in nursing, return home to Columbus, and be a Hospice Care Nurse. Janiya Griffin graduated from Columbus High School. She will be attending Columbus State University in the fall, where she will also pursue a career in Nursing. Tristian Patterson also graduated from Columbus High School, where she maintained a 4.1 GPA and was actively involved in academics, leadership, and community service. She will attend Spelman College as a Biology major on the Pre-Med track. Tristian aspires to become a neonatologist and is passionate about improving maternal and infant health outcomes, particularly in underserved communities.
Please join us in congratulating Brianna, Janiya, and Tristian, and in wishing them well on their journeys at Kennesaw State, Columbus State University, and Spellman College!
