In the presence of a gathering of friends and parish members that taxed the school hall to its capacity, members of the class of 1925 of St. Francis academy received their diplomas last evening, signifying they had successfully completed their four years high school course.

Mrs. Everett Morgan, chairman of the Legion auxiliary committee in charge of this year’s poppy sale, reports about $90 realized from the sale. Local members say that about equals the amount raised in sales in previous years.

Throwing of torpedoes against automobile bodies and too persistent bombardment of feminine victims with the pesky little explosives will be taboo in Columbus on the Fourth of July if suggestions advanced by the city dads at their special meeting last evening are incorporated into regulations to be drawn up by the committee on parks and public grounds.

Mrs. A.G. Lueschen, son Alvin, and daughter, Willinette, will leave Tuesday for Germany where next fall Mrs. Lueschen and Alvin will enter a famous conservatory of music, the former to continue her study of piano, and the latter to continue his education in both violin and piano. They will spend nearly two years abroad. Dr. Lueschen will remain here a year and then, in the summer of 1924, will join them there and take a post-graduate course in his profession.

There will be a special excursion train on the Burlington & Missouri Sunday. It will leave here at 8:35 Sunday morning and enable all those who desire to attend the Lincoln-Denver baseball game in Lincoln Sunday to do so. It will leave Lincoln to return at 7:30 p.m. The fare will be one and on-third for the round trip.
