I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!!! ๐๐๐๐
Barrel #6 almost blends in with the colorful mural on the northern
face the building housingโฆ. you guessed itโฆ Ross Realtors! Public
art, including several downtown murals, and even these barrels
decorated by student artists, uplifts the lives of those who live,
work, and shop in Hilliard! A 2017 study by the Penn School of
Social Policy and Practice that controlled for socio-economics,
race, and ethnicity concluded that: In lower-income
neighborhoods, cultural resources are "significantly" linked to
better health, schooling, and security. The presence of cultural
resources is associated with:
- 14% decrease in cases of child abuse and neglect
- 5% decrease in obesity
- 18% increase in scores on English and math exams
- 18% decrease in the serious crime rate.
Thank you, Ross Realtors, for supporting public art with your mural
and by sponsoring this barrel!
Would you like your own rain barrel? We started with 30 free
barrels for Hilliard residents, but we just learned that TWO MORE
remain. Claim yours by pre-registering NOW for the event on
Saturday, April 15 at 9am.

At the event, youโll learn how to use the rain barrel, youโll receive a
free converter kit, and youโll decorate it with stencils and spray paint. At around 1pm, youโll take home a work of art that also
helps our waterways by reducing pollution and flooding, and also
by reducing the erosion of soil.
