Webber applies powdered enamel to cleaned and polished, solid copper, pre-1982 US pennies (RIP 🪦) which are then fired in a kiln at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Now open 🦅 Stacey Lee Webber’s solo exhibition at Chaos Contemporary Craft in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

As seen on CBS Sunday Morning, Philly-based artist Stacey Lee Webber creates art entirely out of money.

Hailing from a blue-collar family, and earning degrees in metalsmithing, Webber’s work consciously walks a fine line between high contemporary art and fine craft. Sawing, soldering, sanding, embroidery - her process is founded in utilitarian craftsmanship. Her product, however, speaks to a more conceptual purpose.

Experience Webber’s exhibition Thursday-Sunday or by appointment. The gallery is open late until 7pm this Friday.
