Not only did our 2026 induction ceremony recognize legendary sports icons and debut our “Gloves & Grit: Jewish Boxing Legends” exhibit, we also honored and celebrated outstanding High School Jewish Athletes for their excellence in athletics, leadership, character, and commitment both on and off the field, as well as within their schools and communities. 👏

What an unforgettable and meaningful day celebrating excellence, perseverance, and Jewish pride at the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame 2026 induction ceremony. 🏆

From honoring legendary champions and trailblazing athletes to sharing stories of resilience, heritage, and determination, the event was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact Jewish athletes have made across generations of sports history.

The induction of Kevin Pillar, Cletus Seldin, Yuri Foreman, Max Baer, and Max “Slapsie Maxie” Rosenbloom, along with the opening of our “Gloves & Grit: Jewish Boxing Legends” exhibit, made for a truly special celebration filled with inspiration, reflection, and community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible event and helped make the day so memorable.

Known to fans as “The Hebrew Hammer,” Seldin became a force in professional boxing with his power and fearless approach inside the ring.

With 28 professional victories, including 23 by knockout, and championship success, Seldin has carried forward the legacy of Jewish boxers while inspiring a new generation through his passion, toughness, and heart.

The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum will proudly honor Maxie Rosenbloom, one of boxing’s most skilled and recognizable figures, as one of our 5 2026 inductees.

Known as “Slapsie Maxie,” Rosenbloom captured the World Light Heavyweight Championship in 1930 and became famous for his unique ring style that frustrated opponents and captivated fans.

Not only did he hold an incredible professional record of 222 victories, Rosenbloom was also a beloved film and television personality.

Inducted in 2012, Denning made history not only through his accomplishments on the track, but by proudly representing his Jewish identity in the world of NASCAR.

Major League standout Kevin Pillar will be proudly honored by the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum as one of our 2026 inductees, in recognition of a career defined by incredible athleticism and pride in his Jewish heritage.
