This painting of “Genevieve” is ready to bring a splash of sassy Southern sunshine to the Big Apple—she’s headed to New York City!

The inspiration began with a fabulous photo, followed by a quick charcoal sketch on a scrap board. From there, I started the underpainting on the larger canvas, layering warm tones of beige and yellow. This lovely lady developed from there. Now, she’s ready to shine in the city that never sleeps.
