This time of year we receive many calls about birds on the beach. Loons especially look injured when on land, due to the position of their legs being set far back on the body. Yesterday someone left this loon on our back deck in a box, unknown to us. Luckily we noticed it when leaving and released in it the sound. Please do not abandon animals at the Center. It could have perished in the box last night or been attacked by another animal. Call us for information if you find an injured animal or bird, most times it is better to let them be.
