Jeremiah is a 10-year-old young artist who participated in this year’s Howland Community OPEN and received the Youth People’s Choice Award.

Like so many young creatives, Jeremiah found a space at The Arts Center to share his work, be seen, and feel encouraged by his community.

Throughout our Spring Appeal, we’ll be sharing more of Jeremiah’s story and highlighting the impact community arts spaces can have on young people and families across our region.

When you support The Arts Center, you help make moments like these possible.

Benton County's Solid Waste Program Coordination wants you to know what happens to the clothes you "donate" 👀

The Frimpong Case, a new exhibition at The Arts Center in Corvallis has the answer. It might surprise you. Artist Vincent Frimpong uses textiles shipped from the U.S. to Africa as "donations" to create powerful work that confronts fast fashion, disposability, and the real cost our consumption puts on communities abroad.

The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Waste Prevention Action Team is partnering with The ArtsCenter in Corvallis on events that go beyond the gallery:

• Mending Skills Workshops (Unlocking Art): May 26, June 6 & June 30
• FREE Clothing Swap: June 27, 12–5 PM in the Main Gallery

Come curious. Leave inspired. Make your wardrobe last.

This week’s Corvallis Chamber Greeters was a great reminder of what can happen when creativity, community, education, and business share the same space.

We were thrilled to welcome Oregon State University freshman marketing students to The Arts Center as they presented their businesses and ideas to local professionals and community members. It was exciting to see students explore new ideas, create meaningful connections, and experience what it feels like to belong within a supportive and engaged community.

Thank you to the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, Stephen Hodges, and all of the students who filled our space with curiosity, conversation, and entrepreneurial energy.

What a weekend.

From origami at the Saturday Market to metal embossing at the Spring Garden Festival, we spent our weekend creating, connecting, and meeting so many wonderful people.

We especially loved seeing so many kids get excited about making art.

“We’ve just met so many great people and kids,” one of our team shared. “I’ve been telling everyone about Summer Arts Adventures!”

Back at The Arts Center on Sunday, we also welcomed over 200 visitors into our ArtShop and Gallery, making it an especially vibrant day across all of our spaces.

If you came by to say hello, thank you. We loved meeting you.

If you’re looking for more ways to connect with the arts in our community, explore our Community Arts Calendar to see what’s happening around you. You can also submit your own arts events to help grow a more connected creative community.

ArtShop Spotlight: Heather Andrews
May Feature

This month, we’re featuring Heather Andrews in the ArtShop.

Heather’s work is inspired by a lifelong fascination with the natural world—from the textures and patterns of plants to the incredible diversity of insects. As an entomologist, she brings a unique perspective to her work, blending science and creativity with a playful, curious approach.

Her pieces invite you to slow down, look closer, and discover the beauty in the small, often overlooked details of the world around us.

Come see her work in person and learn more about her story on our website.

Landscapes Reimagined: Philip Stork
Now on view in the Corrine Woodman Gallery

Through layered compositions, Philip Stork explores movement across space and time. His abstract landscapes emerge from imagination while drawing from the colors and environments he’s encountered through travel.

Working in pastel and pencil, Stork creates expansive fields of color supported by subtle linework, inviting a more fluid and interpretive experience of landscape.
