We are on the count down for the return of Dolly the Wayne County Mastodon. There will be a ribbon cutting September 26 at noon during the Pioneer Festival. We might not have the entire animal, but what other museum can boast having the actual skull of a giant creature that walked the earth almost 14,000 years ago!

Prairie Trails Museum will be closed September 7 in observance of Labor Day. Please visit us this week 1pm - 5pm. Our September hours are 1pm -5pm Mon thru Saturday.

I have been asked what was in the 2001 Time Capsule. The Corydon city crew dug it up in the Wayne County courtyard last week. It was buried SO deep! They brought it to the museum & we decided to check on the condition before the big event on July 4th. What we found- the container had leaked in the 25 years it was buried. The contents was mostly stinky & black. We are all so disappointed.
