Posey House

Posey House Built in 1817, Home of Colonel Thomas Posey, son of Governor Posey. Col Posey served as Treasurer of Harrison County. Open for tours by appointment.

Although he never married, Col Posey reared 14 orphans. Refurbished 2013 with a grant from Harrison County Community Foundation.

April 28 Quarterly Event: The William Henry Harrison Log Cabin at 419 North Capitol Avenue in Corydon will be open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28th for tours.
Visitors can also drop off accounts or submissions for the upcoming "Hoofprints from the Past" booklet about the impact of John Hunt Morgan's Raid in Harrison County.

The Historical Society of Harrison County will have its Fall Quarterly Event on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 pm at the Harrison County Community Foundation Conference Room at 1523 Foundation Way, Corydon, Indiana 47112. The topic for the evening will be "The Untold Legacy Of Morgan's Terrible Men" presented by Gerald Fischer from Brandenburg Kentucky. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are also invited to bring their personal submissions to the event for inclusion in the upcoming Hoofprints from the Past project book project about Morgan's Raiders impact on Harrison County families and communities.
