On April 13-15, 2013 in Albany, Goergia, The Parks at Chehaw will be hosting their annual Native American Festival. This event educates visitors on the history of the Native American people through dance, music demonstrations, and art/craft vendor booths showcasing and selling art, crafts, and jewelry from throughout the Americas. This festival is especially attractive because it is positioned in the park within their Wild Animal Park, which exibits include African Black Rhino, American Bald Eagle, cheetas, zeras among other exotic wildlife while you walk through the scenic boardwalks and cypress swamp. If you're in the area, I'll see you there!

Yesterday I accepted an invite to participate in Thunder on the Beach Powwow. It was a great show last year and I expect an even better one this year. It bills itself as the largest Native American Powwow in Florida. This time of year it attracts not only locals, but travelers from around the word vacationing in Florida with an interest in Native American culture. The three day event is being held Feb. 15, 16, 17, 2013 at the Indian River County Fairgrounds near Vero Beach along the Atlantic. More info available at www.thunderonthebeachpowwow.net

There is an outstanding cultural event coming this Feb. 22-24, 2013 called the 6th Annual Stone Age & Primitive Arts Festival at Ochlockonee River State Park near Sopchoppy, Fl. (on the Gulf Coast about 50 miles below Tallahassee). I'll be setting up on Thursday, Feb. 21. More info at www.knapfest.com
