The Paragon Art Gallery is a local cooperative made up of 14 members, all of which are from the Gunnison Valley. The cooperative was created in 1979 to promote and support local artist and the visual arts throughout the valley. We encourage innovation and growth in our members and in our community. The Paragon Art Gallery sponsors many community benefit projects including the Guest Artist program,

the People’s Fair, the Art Donation Benefit Program, financial support for local school art programs, and other various projects. Stop in and see the beautiful art of 14 local artists and two rotating guest artist in one convenient location!

📍 Must be a resident of Gunnison County.
⏰ Commitment: One shift per week.

Hi folks! It’s that time of year we are gearing up for another great arts & crafts festival on Elk Ave in beautiful Crested Butte, Colorado! The Paragon’s People’s Fair is a two day event held over Labor Day weekend.
We are looking for unique artisans to fill our festival! Early bird applications are available for locals to get a first chance to participate. Locals, you can find hard copy applications in a folder on the front door of the Paragon Gallery on Elk. As for the rest of you, don’t fret! Online applications will be open in just a few days for the public. April 15th online applications will be open on the Paragons website at paragonartgallery.com/peoplesfair

For March, the Paragon Art Gallery proudly featured Patrick Duke as our Artist of the Month. Patrick’s exquisite oil paintings are timeless embodiments of fleeting moments. He excels at capturing the transition of light across Colorado’s vast landscapes. Patrick has been a member of the Paragon for 14+ years & his growth as an artist throughout this time has been a marvelous journey to behold.

A lifelong artist, creating artwork makes up some of Patrick’s earliest childhood memories. He loves to be anywhere outdoors, especially where snow is falling & the leaves are autumn gold. When asked what inspires him most, he responded (other than coffee..) “I use my countless days outside, observing nature & landscapes to inspire my creations.”

His interest in oil painting in particular came about while studying for his Bachelors of Fine Arts at Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado. Patrick has been a fly fishing guide for over 20 years, alongside creating work as a full-time artist. He is often seen at work painting in his studio “Studio One Eleven,” on Elk Ave., in downtown Crested Butte.

---Paragon Gallery CB is SEEKING A NEW FULL-TIME MEMBER ---
We currently have an opening for another local artist to join our ranks ! This opportunity is for a floor artist - Each of our floor artists exhibit their work on shelves & pedestals. Floor displays are fitting for primarily 3D artistic mediums.

Jurying for incoming applicants will take place in the beginning of April 2025; the application deadline for this jurying is 3/28/25.
The selected artist will begin displaying their work after mudseason, when we re-open the gallery for Summer 2025, (end of May.)

The Paragon floor currently exhibits member works of primarily ceramics, jewelry, leather, & wood. We will accept applicaitons within these mediums, however candidates of additional mediums such as sculpture, textiles, metal, glass, etc., have a greater chance of being selected for the Jury.

We encourage all local artists who believe they would be an asset to our team to submit an application.

Completed applications are to be dropped off in person at the gallery, 132 Elk Ave in CB, no later than March 28th for the current membership opening
