These were some of the early MS blues men that made a great conbrution to MS blues their music is playing all over the world today , they were the original blues men , if you had a voice , a song , a guitar you had a oppunity of getting record, Their music date back as far as the 1800 ,

Tommy Johnson was born in 1896 he was the most influential blues singer in the state of Mississippi for over twenty years.

Perhaps he helped to ensure his own fame by being generous in teaching his songs to others, particularly younger musicians. He was never known to be jealous about music.

Tommy Johnson died November 1, 1956 of a heart attack after playing at his niece birthday party, In Crystal Soring MS . A Blues Trail Marker was places in Downtown Crystal Spring in 2005 to honor him.

Highway 51 from the northern exit threw the City limits a stretch of 11 miles was named Tommy Johnson Blues Memorial Highway in 2014 in honor of him,
