The majority of the funds used to purchase this exhibit were raised during Give Local Piedmont! Your donations really make an impact here at PlayDate because they go towards meaningful educational experiences for thousands of kids. THANK YOU for your support!! This item is part of our Newton’s Corner Exhibit supported by the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Power of Change Grant!

This is our new Wave Pendulum! The wave effect is created by different pendulums each swinging at a slightly different frequency. Because the strings are different lengths, they gradually drift in and out of sync, creating these mesmerizing patterns. A beautiful example of physics, motion, and mathematics working together.

What a fantastic Science Saturday! 🧪✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Science & Senses. We had so much fun making slime, exploring movement with the Ducking Gravity aerial rig, and experiencing the Reimagine Recreation sensory walk.

Our young scientists put their senses to the test, doing an amazing job identifying mystery objects by sound, smell, touch, and even taste! 👂👃✋👅

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for bringing the day to life. These events wouldn’t be possible without you!!
